Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the ten largest hotel groups worldwide, today announced the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel GÖttingen, Germany. The 114-room property is scheduled to open fourth quarter 2013. This will bring Carlson Rezidor's portfolio in Germany to 52 hotels and more than 11,000 rooms.
“We are pleased to strengthen our German network and to extend the cooperation with our strategic franchise partner Provent. The Park Inn by Radisson Hotel GÖttingen is our sixth joint hotel project, and we look forward to further growing our relationship”, said Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and chief executive office, Rezidor.
The Park Inn by Radisson is a conversion of an existing hotel and will undergo a complete renovation programme. The hotel is located along one of the main roads into GÖttingen, a historic university city. The city centre is within walking distance, and the site provides direct motorway access to the A7. The fully air-conditioned property will offer an all-day-dining restaurant, a terrace and a bar; 1,968 square feet of meeting space including conference and board rooms for up to 195 guests; gym and sauna; and parking.
GÖttingen is located in the south of lower Saxony, northeast of Kassel and 75 miles south of Hannover. Major economic drivers of the region include aviation, biotechnology and steel. In GÖttingen itself, the university, which was founded in 1732, is the main business driver – employing about 14,300 people and hosting 25,000 students.
Park Inn by Radisson is Carlson Rezidor's fresh and dynamic mid-market brand. Offering a hassle free, contemporary and comfortable stay, Park Inn by Radisson is currently developing new service ideas and concepts targeting the growing clientele of Gen X and Gen Y.
